Exciting Updates!

Hi everyone,

Thank you for signing up for Ignition Hacks! Our team has been working extremely hard to organize this event and we are delighted to have you join us. With the event taking place less than one week away, we wanted to send a reminder that all participants must sign up on both the Google Form and on Devpost to complete registration. We also wanted to take this opportunity to share some very exciting updates about our hackathon:

1. Ignition Hacks is thrilled to announce our hackathon will be co-hosted and run in collaboration with iAscend! iAscend is a student-led nonprofit organization, funded by the University of Toronto, to equip and empower students with the necessary resources and opportunities that they need to thrive throughout their post-secondary experiences. As a result of our collaboration, the prize pool will be increased to $6,000.

2. We will be hosting pre-event on Friday, August 21. The pre-event will feature keynote speeches from industry leaders, a university Q & A hosted by iAscend for high schoolers and incoming university students and even a game night, with some epic prizes up for grabs! A full schedule will be released on our website shortly.

3. The Ignition Hacks Discord server is up and running! Please take a moment to join the server using this link. Communication during the hackathon will occur over Discord so please ensure you have joined the server before the start of the competition. We have also set up a channel to help any participants looking for teammates to find teams.

4. As promised, we have put together fundamentals of Python resource guide which you can access here. We encourage all programmers who wish to participate in Division Sigma to review the basics of the Python language before the start of the competition. Next week, we will also be releasing division-specific YouTube videos. All these videos and playlists will be accessible throughout the competition on our YouTube Channel.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at ignitionhacks@gmail.com. See you all soon!

Kind Regards,

The Ignition Hacks Team
